Dental CBCT, also known as 3D Dental CT, uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to create detailed three-dimensional images of teeth, jaws and surrounding structures.

Before you book
• You will usually need a referral from a dentist or suitably qualified clinician.
• The referral should explain the clinical question, area to scan and whether a report is required.

How to prepare
• Remove removable metal objects around the head and neck as requested.
• Tell us about pregnancy, possible pregnancy or difficulty standing/keeping still.
At your appointment
We confirm identity, referral details and scan area. You are carefully positioned and asked to remain still while the machine rotates around your head.

Most appointments take around 15 to 30 minutes including checks, positioning and image review.
Results and next steps
Images and, where requested, a report are returned securely to your referrer, who normally discusses treatment planning and next steps.
